Primary Function:
Perform real work and projects with clear objectives and deliverables
that have a significant business impact within the sponsoring functional
area. Working with teams and experts in the poultry and food industry
while you apply your knowledge to real-world business situations.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Perform a 12 week internship from mid-late May until very early August
- You'll receive constant feedback on your performance during your
assignment and a written performance review at the end of your
internship. We believe performance feedback must be ongoing in order to
fully develop your potential.
- Work hard and strive to understand the business while making
significant contributions to the team.
- Gain basic understanding of all aspects of your assigned facility
- Project or deliverable with specific measurable outcomes
- Presentation to plant management on the findings of your project and
internship experience.
- Work closely with a sponsor and project champion to ensure success.
Minimum Skill Levels and Work Experience:
- Strong academic record and demonstrated initiative
- Ethical standards
- Strong communication skills (Written and verbal)
- Analytical skills.
- Enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or
university and be considered an incoming junior or senior by your
academic institution. New graduates are also welcome to apply as long as
they understand this an internship opportunity with a project end date.
- Strong computer skills.
- Degree program in Poultry Science, Agribusiness, Agricultural
Sciences, Animal Science, Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology,
Meat Science or Agriculture.
- Ability to work non-standard shift hours to collect data.
- Ability to perform overnight travel to Corporate Headquarters and/or
other plants.
Preferred Skill Levels and Work Experience
- Previous work or courses in poultry processing
- Poultry Science Club or FFA leadership experience
